Cat,
Thank you for what you have said, I agree about the situation many find themselves in. It is not a easy thing, let the pit issues drive you to the poor house or suffer with the treatment that is avaliable under the insurance you do have.  We all know it's our health, and we all want the best care, but when I saw the bill form my current endo @ 1,600 bucks for the visit, labs, etc...with his office wanting payment at the time of service with a sign saying no exceptions,  even if  I didn't have insurance, I  was shocked at the cost and glad to have insurance. I have to drive 3 hours each way just to see any endo, let alone a pit specialist. I couldn't afford to pay 1,600 out of pocket and the expenses of the trip,  even with two incomes in the family. I got lucky that he took my insurance, if he hadn't I would have continued to struggle with what was avaliable under my plan. As many have to.
