----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on Pituitary Chat
----------------------------------------------------------- From: Michellen567 Message 1 in Discussion Hello everyone, This site has been such an inspiration for me, I can't thank you all enough for taking the time to answer everyone's questions and just be so supportive. Whenever I have been unsure of anything, I just look here and find what I'm looking for : ) I'm hoping someone can help me now as I'm a bit stressed, confused and not sure what to do... I was diagnosed in June last year with a 15mm prolactinoma (sorry, I'm Australian and not sure what the conversion is!) I started out on dostinex which did not agree with me - I couldn't seem to stay awake - so switched to bromo (2.5mg, two tablets a day) which I've been on since September. On Bromo, I struggle to keep my balance when standing, feel nauseous and my mouth keeps filling with saliva for around an hour and if I don't have it with a heavy meal of a night, I suffer terrible nightmares - has anyone else expereinced these symptoms??? I've been offered the new drug quagolide today but am hesitant to try such a new drug, particularly with the recent revelations about high doses of dostinex problems and have been told by my endo that surgery may not be a great option as if they can't get it all I would still need to be on medication to control prolactin levels anyway. Feeling a bit dejected at the moment. Has anyone else expereinced this? Would it be worthwhile getting a second opinion?? What are the odds of sucessful surgery with tumours this size?? My endo has agreed to let me halve my bromo dose and only take it of a morning but does not think this is an appropriate solution. Anxiously awaiting your replies, Thanks for reading!
