I'm not a doctor, but 5-hiaa is a marker for carcinoid. But, other things can
cause elevations.
http://www.carcinoid.org/pcf/lectures/docs/BiochemMarkers.htm You also have
elevations of 2 adrenal hormones, aldosterone and ephinephrine.
You also have an elevation of chromogranin a, which is another marker for
carcinoid. http://www.carcinoid.org/medpro/docs/Enet2003NEMErikssonArdill.pdf
I don't think this is a pituitary tumor problem. Can you make an appt with
the Moffitt Cancer Center and see about seeing Howard Lilienfeld, MD, FACP,
FACE or W. Bradford Carter, MD You might have a neuroendocrine secreting
carcinoid tumor, and you really ought to get a second opinion from someone who
has delt with this. If they won't let you self-refer, perhaps your pcp will
submit you for referral for an opinion based on your tests for possible
neuroendocrine tumor. You pituitary tumor might be incidental. You are in
my prayers. God be with you. Minnie
