----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on Pituitary Chat
----------------------------------------------------------- From: Indygirl_panhypopit Message 13 in Discussion Kerry, You need to find a "neuro" endocrinologist who's specialty is the pituitary gland. Endocrinology is a large field just like alot of other areas of medicine and it's all docs can do to keep up on diabetes and thyroids, ya know. Look under the helpful docs area of this board or go to the "cushings-help.org" board to look at their helpful docs area, which is listed by state. It's off the main menu under the word cushings....then you'll see all the sub menus that pop-out from it. You need a full endo work-up for your pituitary gland. If you have a tumor making excess prolactin, that's treated with medicine to suppress it first, if the tumor is small, and if not controll, then surgery. If it's making other hormones or is causing your pit gland to not function right then surgery is a possibility. The key is finding a good pit endo, then they can lead you to a good neuro-surgeon who does lots of pit surgies if that's what's needed. Let us know what you find out. If you need help finding a good endo please feel free to PM me and I'm happy to help you look. :) Gina ----------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this e-mail, or change how often it arrives, go to your E-mail Settings. http://groups.msn.com/PituitaryChat/_emailsettings.msnw Need help?
