I'm 41 and was never on birth control pills in my life, and still got the 
tumor.  I would have to argue that birth control is not the cause of 
prolactinomas (if anyone is thinking that), but likely something genetic.  (My 
grandmother had a brain tumor along with other cancer.  She died when I was 1 
y/o.)  That's not to say that any pills that effect hormones could not have an 
effect on the condition, but I'd venture to say there is some pre-disposition.  
 All the same, I had an irregular period throughout my life, and now, since 
being diagnosed, I feel that having a regular period = healthy.
