Sun's software infrastructure group (SWI) is using pkg(5) for delivering software to a variety of platforms, including Solaris 10, Linux, Windows and Mac OS. Please see [1] for a list of supported platforms. The first software delivery in this form is the upcoming GlassFish V3 Prelude release, targeted for the end of this month.

What's the point of having the *client* work on 10 though? It makes some sense for pkg.depotd to work cross-platform, but it seems less obvious that the client needs to ever work outside of OpenSolaris.

Of course I haven't seen the Master Plan :-)
