Then this should be called pkg.icon.24px or some such. There's really
no excuse to not support a range of sizes so that things can be
scaled nicely on displays which support it, and 'scalable' should be one
of the options, given the increasing prevalance of SVG.

Seriously? You support X Window Dump format? BMP?
Nikon RAW files? Macintosh PICTs?
I think it'd be a lot better to constrain this to a
small, well known list, rather than rely on whatever
underlying image library gnome is using.
