Just a quick note, gcc is an overloaded term. In the context of a package like gcc 432, gcc means Gnu Compiler Collection, not to be confused with the /usr/bin/gcc command itself.

Should we be looking at a structure like

    developer/gcc
    developer/gcc/c
    developer/gcc/c++
    developer/gcc/objc
    developer/gcc/fortran

etc ("gcc" there could be versioned in some way, like "gcc4" or "gcc432")?
"developer/gcc" could be all the packages in the collection, or at least
the most commonly installed ones.

I'd love to see them as separate packages as I sincerely --the majority-- of individuals need *fortran* support :)
