Hi All,

This email was originally sent to Danek and Shawn but should have been sent to a wider audience....

The install team needs your help. We would like to setup and test using an IPS repo on a disk for our upcoming Caiman project work scheduled for 2010.02. The assumptions we are making is that IPS repo on a disk means:

-HTTP is not used as the transport
-An IPS repo on a disk is different than creating or having a mirror of a repo.

Are these assumptions correct?

If they are, is there a way to setup an IPS repo on say a DVD that can be used locally that is different from mirroring as defined:

http://opensolaris.org/os/project/pkg/Mirroring/

Thank you for your help. The idea is that we want to package a repo with our media so that our installers, specifically the text based installer, can do an IPS installation without requiring a network connection. And, for improved performance.
