Ann,

Are you requesting that there be an additional preferences "Confirm On Remove?

Joanie's request seems reasonable, though I can imagine having two separate options (Confirm on Install/Update, Confirm on Remove) instead of one. Removing sounds a little more scary and I can imagine wanting to be more careful about what I remove, vs what I install.
We currently do not have a confirm dialog when toggling these preferences.
Are you asking for a "Don't ask me again" checkbox for each preference?

And, I don't think this is in the current GUI, but I can see wanting to add "Don't ask me this again" checkbox option at the bottom of the appropriate confirm dialogs which toggle this Preference(s).

This webrev updates the preferences dialog to add two new preferences:

Remember current state on exit
Show confirmation dialog on Install/Update

It also implements saving and restoring the current state if the preference is enabled. Displaying the confirmation dialog on Install/Update will be in a separate webrev.

Since the option to not display the confirmation dialog has not yet been
implemented, I was wondering: Is the plan to limit this option to the
Install/Update confirmation dialog, or will it also apply to the Remove
confirmation dialog?

To me, as an end user, these dialogs are functionally the same and I
would like to be able to configure PM to not show me either confirmation
dialog. If that's not the plan, could it be? :-) If it is the plan,
would it make sense to change the labels in the preferences dialog to
not specify "Install/Update"?

Thanks and take care.
