Are you treating "*...@*" specially because it's currently the only other
valid way of specifying all packages?
I'm thinking we'll have to figure out the future of the up-to-date
check. It's not clear to me that we should do it just when updating
all packages, but not in any other situations. Not for this wad,
though.
