Sorry to hear that didn't work, Marco. It certainly did with my build.

Did you make a clean install? When I had your kind of problems I also  
had to make sure I was installing the projects from scratch, with all  
appropriate dependencies (and the right versions), including all  
dependencies for player/stage as well as gazebo. It turns out I had a  
couple of library redundancies with older versions of fink libraries  
(I build on Mac OS X), and getting the latest versions helped me as  
well. So make sure you have a clean build. I know this is not much of  
an advice, especially when you might end up having the same results.  
Nonetheless, you might want to rule this out.

Let me ask you something, ODE tests run fine? Just out of curiosity,  
what is your rendering method? Have you tried a different rendering  
attribute?
