pl-ease! I find many of these policies rather hypocrite and inconsistent. I really wouldn't mind if you go ahead and package it so it just works. You also have my blessing to use an "incoherent-version-in-changelog", a "invalid-build-requires" and a "not-standard-release-extension", or all at the same time. IMHO it's the user-experience that counts. I'd greatly appreciate it when you document the area's where you needed to bend the rules a bit.
