I made the corresponding changes and wxPLplotDemo.cpp is now compiled  
together with the other cpp examples if the cmake option BUILD_TEST is  
set to ON. I made also minor changes to wxPLplotDemo.cpp so that this  
demo will run on Linux/Mac OS X/Windows.

I'll try it, but pkg-config is really not used usually by Windows  
developers. On the other hand it is not too complicated to install and  
I don't see any other possibility.
