Perhaps I am misunderstanding something (and I could believe that). Isn't a network HotSync an operation which will take everything in the Palm and attempt to synchronize it, rather than just a small subset (e.g Plucker files). It would seem conduits are more of a way to synchronize a subset of the Palm information. Or does the above method allow for a conduit-based approach?
You're running Linux, so why not just use pilot-link's method of doing this, by setting up a daemon on the server side, which is listening for connections on 14238, etc. and then tell your users to configure their Palm with install-netsync to point to your server with the right IP and so on, and sync away. NetWork Hotsync.
Sorry, just learning all of this stuff, so my questions might be rather naive.
Now the only problem is trust, and security.
Is there much to be done about security in this respect? Is there support for client/server certificates and the like?
Who is trusting whom? Am I trusting the client or is the client trusting me or are both trusting each other?
Thanks for the comments.
