        Let me take a look into this over the next week. They aren't valid
tags, so there are a few options to removing them, or turning them into
comment tags, so they'll be ignored.

        I actually have a perl scrip that does exactly this, and I'm
incorporating it into the new email reflector stuff, so you can say:

        pg://path/to/project/gutenberg/etext/online

        ..and it will apply that formatting and such to the text. I've
successfully converted several hundred of them in multi-megabyte size
without a single problem.

        The website has a copy of it, as does the source code, and the cvs.
