So that the user of Plucker does not have to waste the precious RAM and external storage plus learning curve (albeit minor) to have a program that does a large quantity of what Plucker already does. The only "extra" to Plucker is reading the DOC file in the first place. Of coarse, then you could add the zTXT (Weasel) format as well.2) There are too many Palm Doc books out there to
ignore. If Plucker is going to be a book reader, it
needs to read Doc format as well as Plucker format. Otherwise, I'll need to keep a Doc reader anyway.
One could turn that on it's head:
There are too many palm doc book *readers* out there to make it worthwhile to add it to plucker.
Why waste countless hours of time on a problem that's already been solved with countless free, high quality applications?
Of coarse with JPluck being about to convert PalmDOC files into Plucker files, this is less of an issue except for the inconvience of having to do the conversion in the first place.
