Hi,
I am facing following problems with SuSe 9.2.
1. While installation of SuSe 9.2, I had to choose
Text mode as screen was turning blank as soon as Yast
started. I had thought that there might be a display
driver problem, which would get fixed after
installation. After installation I found that normal
SuSe 9.2 with KDE would not start ( same display
problem). So I used fail safe mode, and logged in text
mode. From there I tried startx, but again screen went
blank. Any pointers on how to investigate the problem?
Its a intel 815e chipset ( standard intel 815 onboard
graphics card) and Knoppix used to run fine.
2. I have a PCI modem. I tried to configure modem
using yast. Currently it shows following options as
possible modems : /dev/modem, usb ports, serial ports,
parallel ports. It also says that currently no modem
detected.
How can I get to work the PCI modem?
