Plain ole' Tcl doesn't have database functions at all, although there are
extension projects in the works. 

OTOH, AOLserver's embedded Tcl interp includes a database independent API
(and I have some sample code on my website), so it doesn't matter if you're
connecting to PostgreSQL, Informix, Illustra, Solid, Oracle, Sybase,
Interbase, etc.
