Dear folks:
One of our university's labs just got a new piece of equipment that came
with a PC that's really quite overkill for the job (like it's a Pentium
III with 64 MB RAM and 8.3 G of free hard disk space). It's got Windows 98
and software configured for the interfaced equipment all on a single
primary partition occupying the entire hard disk (and we really wouldn't
want to mess around with the configured software). We want it to double
for network stuff (surfing, email, etc.) but we don't want to deal with
Windows viruses, so we're thinking of using linux in some sort of
dual-boot setup (not using UMS DOS). What's the safest way of resizing the
Win98 partition to make space for linux (with emphasis on the fact that we
don't want to mess up the configured software for the equipment)?
Thanks in advance!
