Hi there fellow PLUGgers (special mention to Brian Baquiran)! :-)
I'm doing some preliminary research/study on AOLserver. I'm interested in
it versus Apache for a couple of reasons including curiosity, but
primarily because someone recommended it for situations where SSL will be
required because like Netscape Enterprise server, SSL is native to it
versus Apache's requirement of an external module (or something like
that).
1. Would anyone have recommended sites/URLs/books for me to learn Tcl (the
scripting language that AOLserver uses, right?) in general and scripting
for AOLserver in particular? Aside from <http://www.aolserver.com/> of
course.
2. Would anyone know of existing open-source programs for AOLserver, like
Horde IMP and TWIG for PHP3? I'm looking at web-based IMAP front-ends as
well as group collaboration solutions (ie: scheduling, web-based group
messaging) that I can adapt/use and/or learn from. I'm particularly
interested in learning about session management, accessing IMAP server(s)
and working with databases.
3. Any other nice stuff you could recommend for a possible implementation
of Linux + AOLserver + Oracle/Informix/Whatever-Hoping-You'd-Suggest for
an e-commercse site?
Muchos gracias! I hope my questions aren't too far out or too vague. If
they are, please help me narrow them down. :-)
