yes as others have pointed out it is Ctrl-Alt-+ (control alt plus). but for
this to work it must be set in your XF86Config file (/etc/X11/XF86Config in
RH).  Try the keystrokes if nothing happens then the video modes are not set
in XF86Config.   To enable it, edit XF86Config.  In the section:

Subsection "Display"
    Depth    8
    Modes     "640x480"     "800x600"    "1024x768"

 edit or add the different modes that your monitor will allow.  The leftmost
entry in the Modes section will be the default when you startx.  In the
above scenario when you startx in 8 bit color depth the X server will give
you an 640x480 screen size.  And if you Ctrl-Alt-+ you get the next mode
which is 800x600.
