Use linuxconf to MANUALLY enter the NE2000 PCI module.
Enter your computer name, domain, ip address, gateway,
subnet. (or DHCP if there is a server)

Some network cards you have to set in the BIOS and 
assign it an IRQ, try to set it to 9,10 or 11.

detect the network card (e2000plus) which is NE2000
compatible daw. how must i 
configure my linux so that it can detect the NIC and be able
to use it?
