currently, both reiserfs and jfs are still pretty much bleeding edge. but,
i would trust my business on reiserfs for the moment since its development
is pretty active. but...things could change.

regarding database backends, i recommend postgreSQL. i could not imagine
having a database backend that does not allow rollbacks and transactions.
it could be done but it would be difficult.

for frontend things. perl is definitely too tedious to use. php3/4 is good
but i am not sure about scalability. java servlets is also another option.
