Jijo,

You may want to reconsider that reiserFS+MD (software
RAID) combination. IIRC journaling and MD conflict with each other (they
both screw the filesystem in a way which is fundamentally incompatible
with the other). now I read this in relation to ext3, but it could apply
to reiserFS as well..
