hi jackson,
that's good to hear.
some of our boxes also use the s3 trio 3d/2x,
we found that it can't support 1024x768,
so we configured them with 800x600x24bpp.
you may use XF86Setup,
click on card -> cardlist -> s3 trio 3d/2x
click on monitor -> non-interlaced svga (check your monitor!)
click on modeselection -> 800x600 -> 24bpp
click on done
you may then run xvidtune to solve your screen scrolling problem
or tweak your monitor's knobs and buttons to center the screen.
