pirated, yup.  cause exforcement is too lax.  I got all original wc3 n frozenthrone cause the benefits aside from being licensed are imediately evident (battlenet!)  But right now 70% off all netcafe gamers play the online games.

some games do work on linux, e.g. warcraft III works under wine.

i find it strange though --- all the LAN shops are complaining about the cost of windows, but most if not all of their game software is pirated anyway (exception: ragnarok, khan, tantra, rose, the usual crop of local online games).

Hi, I represent a group that's trying to shift from
windows to linux.  So far we've been successful with
lan games but so far stumped at all online games using
gameguard in the philippines (ragnarok, rose online,
mu online, gunbound online are just a few).  We're
also trying to release a "linux.ph-gaming for
dummies".  In our survey, around 50% of the philippine
market when forced with a decision to buy windows even
with a 1yr. financing plan still couldn't afford it.
:(  sad to say.  Anyway, this is a non-profit group
but we do have support from the online game
publishers....problem is their games were not meant to
run on linux and they've got an agreement with
nprotect(gamguard) to be included in their game
releases.  If any of you got some extra time or know
of ways or solutions to the problem it would be highly
appreciated.  just mail me at [EMAIL PROTECTED] tnx.
