the problem is that PLUG newbies, like all kinds of Pinoys, are just damn LAZY. they don't know how to use google. that's why questions keep getting repeated on a monthly/yearly cycle, as Kelsey pointed out.
A person who is completely new in Linux (and sometimes in computer) will have no idea that his problem has already been ask before. Meaning, we will always have people who does not know. Not that they are lazy, some of them just plainly doesn't know.
As a group advocating Linux, we have to cater with this people or risk being elitist. Because nobody would want to join us anymore.
I remember what my boss here told me last week, He said that "If you encounter a new user who is asking for (computer) help by phone, its already your fault if you assume that the user has a certain level of knowledge in computer. Not everybody is like you. He may not be a big shot computer man, he just have other fields of expertise" Meaning, he may completely have no idea what google is, have you ever considered that. Do you know that we may have users like that. And because we scare them (for all the possible reason), they wont use Linux anymore. I don't thnk its fruitful for the organization to grow.
