reminds me of the "Hallway Test" that we did to decide which distro to
use for
a production-wide deployment of gnu/linux desktops. distro are actually out
of the question, it's simply GNOME vs. KDE (KDE was preferred and
voted by the dominant "not-so-techie" users).
on the development-side, GTK was initially preferred for cross-platform
(Win32/OSX/Linux) GUI-development. but we got frustrated because
of some broken / unintuitive widgets (even XUL works better for us,
attn: nathaniel jayme).
