Slackware-based live-CD, allows users to create their own modules that can be inserted into the ISO image. It is possible to make your own custom Live-CD.
or even a Live-USB. Everything runs from the CD or USB, you don't even need
a hard disk to run. Runs KDE or Flux.
Slax is now the base for the WHAX Security Auditing Live-CD. WHAX was formerly based on Knoppix but the author decided to go with SLAX due to the
"create-your-own-custom-ISO" capability. Great security Audit tool.
Please check out the SLAX site, there are various base-builds and a lot of modules you can add.

Not to add another distro, but I'd like to inform you that a couple of
security professionals do use live CDs to do their security audits
(including a couple of big auditing firms in Metro Manila that I won't
mention :D)
