go to /bin, /sbin, /usr/bin, /usr/sbin, and other bin directories the files there are all linux one-liners
or go to your console prompt and press tab until it asks about possibilities. if you want to know what a command means/does try typing 'command --help' or 'man command' where command is one of those files in the bin directories. read all of the manual pages and you'll be a linux guru :) if that's not enough you wouldn't want to miss trying to understand all the files, directories, files inside the directories, and so on..., under /etc after doing both you will be able to ignore any linux newbie, linux system / network administration book, and almost any linux book in the bookstore, hehe, and even most unix books. or if you want an easier way, go to http://www.tldp.org/ ->The Linux Documentation Project On 2/21/06, Arys P.
