So for $35 per mo. (including taxes and useless MSN) for 1.5 mbps at Qwest is cheapo. BTW how can I maximize VOIP in ph, shall i send a vonage box back home so or the other way around a box from VOIP provider there to be installed here.

ah yes... trademark of smart's poor service again :-> ph-cyberview recently
was talking about it
(http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ph-cyberview/message/29148 )

in my opinion the denizens of ph-cyberview are a bunch of whiners.

i've had my share of dropouts in smart's wifi service. what the f*ck do these people expect, gold standard service for 988 a month??!!

having worked in an ISP for the longest  time, i have a more realistic view. for what these people are paying, they should have no expectation of fantastic service. adequate service is more like it. heck, broadband now costs LESS in this country than in the US. so what are these people complaining about? a couple years ago they'd have to sell their left nut to get this kind of service.

nevermind the "bottom of the barrel" comments. there is such a thing as sunk cost. of course i expect service to get better (Moore's Law again) but whiners complaining that they can't get 100% or even 95% uptime on their 384kbit 988-peso link just shows that some people will never be satisfied.

personally i think Manny Pangilinan's scams are the best thing that happened to the local internet industry. and whiners be damned.
