Should've been 988/month. But yeah, that amount for one year won't even
cover the cost of the entire thing.

Doing the math (without the discounts first):
125mW wifi AP (good reception) : P8000 (exclusive of shipping). 15dbi
gain antenna (good reception, omni): P8000 (exclusive of shipping). I
dunno the prices for panel antennas (haven't sold any).
25ft LMR400 cable: P3700 per 25/ft.
NTC wifi registration: P1000 (outdoor)

that is an incorrect assumption. the motorola canopy CPE is an integrated RF transceiver and sector antenna in a small, easy to deploy package.
it's designed for subscriber deployment in countries with high labor costs, to minimize truck roll. i watched the ill-trained smart wifi contractor install the thing. they didn't do any site survey or anything, they just eyeballed the nearest smart cellular tower and pointed the sector antenna/CPE in that direction (very roughly). no signal strength measurements or anything.
based on my past correspondence with motorola canopy distributors, i would venture to guess that the CPE alone would probably cost $100 to $150 once discounted. a base station costs about $5000 plus. so figure around $200 per-port cost inclusive of CPE, base station slot, and backhaul. That's roughly your one year subscription.
