Good for you then. There are users on the Fedora list claiming slow
Firefox performance on FC5. :)

I'm suspecting the primary cause for this is SELinux because after
disabling it and then rebooting, Firefox now seems a lot more snappy
on my workstation. Doing a tail -f on /var/log/messages would have you
getting SELinux messages everytime you open a Firefox instance.
