hi,
would it posible to use a ubuntu kernel on debian sarge?
Short answer: NO. A stock Ubuntu linux-image-XXX downloaded off the
archive via apt-get, having Ubuntu-specific patches, won't work on a
Debian Sarge system `out of the box'. So would trying to use a
stock Sarge kernel-image-XXX off Dapper. :/
You may, hoever, try to build Ubuntu's linux-source-XXX against
Debian's toolchain, to produce a native linux-image package. Take
note, however, that you may have to turn off some options at the
kernel config that are Ubuntu-specific (dbus-1(?) comes to mind...)
