Self-respecting, freedom loving, cost-conscious and ethically upright
FOSS advocates and computer users *are not close-minded zealots who
will shun away from legally procured or obtained
proprietary/commercial software just because they're not free as in
beer/freedom*.
When you say practice what you preach: "Respect the rights of the
authors who slap open source or free as in freedom licenses to their
software because they want to and can do so."
When I personally advocate Open Source Software, I say "this is a good
choice, you may or may not use it but here is a list of advantages
(and disadvantages) for using something like this...". I don't say
"Let's not use Microsoft anything because they're evil and they're
wrong." -- I used to say that before, but I've seen the light, and the
reality that not all software should be free/open source (it's just
insane to think that in the first place).
It's like saying everyone in the Philippines should speak Filipino
because it's the nationalistic thing to do -- which is just a load of
bull IMO.
