Kinda cool UI. That's what I like the most. Plus the calendaring which is also cool.
Now for the sysad, it might be a different story. First, it uses SENDMAIL *gasp* ! Second, it prefers the RPM for its packaging *more gasps* !! Third, integration of third-party packages (spamassassin, anti-virus) is quite laborious. Well not really, for the Orly Andico-types (perl guru on the 7th perl heaven, LOL!) Overall, after the initial setup, it's quite okay. I'll give it 3.5 stars (out of five). For Simplicity and Power, I'd rather go with Postfix+Squirrelmail+MailScanner. But if your end-users are dying of eye-candy, go Scalix 11. :-) (Community Edition is good). On 11/16/06, Michael Tinsay <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
How is Scalix performing? Any feedback (good AND bad) from your users your willing to share? I'm thinking of moving my mail users into a web-app like Scalix or Zimbra. --- mike t. ----- Original Message ---- From: Mhac Janapin <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Philippine Linux Users' Group (PLUG) Technical Discussion List < [email protected]> Sent: Thursday, November 16, 2006 9:18:02 AM Subject: Re: [plug] UCE from Localhost? I think I got it. Scalix is acting as a relay which makes sendmail listen to a different port. So, Scalix is listening on port 25 and then hands over the connection to Sendmail (which is listening on 127.0.0.1:xx). So in the logs, sendmail is saying that it is receiving mail from localhost. When I run purely sendmail (via the vanilla sendmail.cf) without Scalix, there is no more logs on connections from 127.0.0.1. Strange. But I will look into it further. Thanks for the tips.
