Which is something this survey does not bear out:
http://www.redhat.com/promo/vendor/?sc_cid=bcm_bnrhpciovalue_037
- for the record, that study by CIO Insight was not sponsored by
Red Hat
- caveat: I work for Red Hat in Singapore
- the survey is not specific about country, but I cannot think that
it would be too off the mark in Philippines
- do read that report. It is rather revealing and thank goodness it
is not vendor sponsored!

Somehow I am not convinced regarding the Philippines case.

It seems to me that third-party Linux support organizations such as
Q-Linux, Bluepoint, and QSR actually have more footprint than the
Philippines Red Hat partner. I don't suppose it is coincidence that
the partner contracted Q-Linux to administer their Red Hat training
program.

I am quite willing to speculate that the number of Linux installations
in the Philippines that are supported by third-party Linux companies
far outnumbers those supported by the Red Hat Philippines partner.

And, meanwhile, the large companies which have a huge installed Oracle
DB base are very likely to switch over to OEL instead of sticking with
RHEL simply because OEL is cheaper, and they are already accustomed to
Oracle Support providing services to them for Oracle DB.
