I have abused a HP Compaq Presario V2000 with PCLinuxOS 2007 and it works real nice, especially the Beryl 3D. But it has issues with Ubuntu. It would boot OK, but hangs during Gnome startup. So I have to find a way to get around that BUG in order to install Ubuntu. ;-P It' about 34k when we bought it. No built-in WiFi though.

Found some good ultraportables from MSI within that price range. Hardware features do look good, although I really can't say with any level of certainty as I've only touched it, not used and abused it like Dell Latitudes and IBM Thinkpads. -- Paolo Alexis Falcone [EMAIL PROTECTED] ================================= Check out my twins! http://falconefamily.multiply.com ================================= _________________________________________________ Philippine Linux Users' Group (PLUG) Mailing List [email protected] (#PLUG @ irc.free.net.ph) Read the Guidelines: http://linux.org.ph/lists Searchable Archives: http://archives.free.net.ph
