My Presario X1000 (3 years old) is still okay with the hinges. We find it durable enough that we bought HP/Compaq Presarios eversince. My sister's using a 2-year old and my dad bought one last year (the black one with carbon-like finish).
We also have an Acer that is 5 years old. It's still chugging along, only with the optical drive replaced. Our old Twinhead (Pentium 233) and Phoenix had problems with the hinges. The former has tape and the latter is now headless. We still have two Twinhead laptops that are working fine though. On 5/5/07, Roberto Verzola <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
First thing to break (under normal use) for most laptops is the mechanical link between the screen and the body of the laptop. Acer, toshiba, fujitsu etc. which I've tried all suffered from this problem. I'd appreciate any experience about brands/models that are well-built in this respect. Obet Verzola
