I'm not sure about RH7.3 but on Debian there's a "compat" (compatibility)
package to support those softwares that are dependent on the previous
version of a specific library.
perhaps you might want to try building a new version of the glibc on
a _different_ directory and then compile the package of the software
you're trying to build using the library installed on that directory.
and then inform us if you're successful or not :)
