RH 7.3 is so ancient, you're virtually required to update. Scary!

The answer is... throw the problem to your vendor. Hardware and
software certification should be the vendor's problem. Ditto for
support.

<random-vendor-plug>
download Oracle Enterprise Linux for free! and get support for the
piddling sum of $99/year
</random-vendor-plug>

Now, if you don't have a vendor... then welcome to the Free Software
world, where rolling your own is expected. :-)

That said, if I were in that position, I'd upgrade. Or find another
system to run the "latest greatest" software.

Here's the thing.. if your "latest greatest software" requires a new
GLIBC, it will require new libraries for EVERYTHING ELSE. That's
guaranteed. GLIBC is so basic, so fundamental to the OS (the OS WILL
NOT BOOT without GLIBC) that if an application requires a new GLIBC,
it basically requires a new OS.
