Hi Ariz,
I am not sure how a new GLIBC on a different directory will work
as the package I need to use is pre-built already. Would it mean that the
pre-built software will look for the library in the default directory it
used when it was built? Thanks!
Gerald

I'm not sure about RH7.3 but on Debian there's a "compat" (compatibility)
package to support those softwares that are dependent on the previous
version of a specific library.
perhaps you might want to try building a new version of the glibc on
a _different_ directory and then compile the package of the software
you're trying to build using the library installed on that directory.
and then inform us if you're successful or not :)

Hi Guys,
I have a RH 7.3 system in the office and I need to build some
packages that needs Glibc 2.3.x libraries. Is it advisable to upgrade the
Glibc libraries?
I only manage to get from google one source of a successful
upgrade:
http://www.linux-sxs.org/upgrading/glibc.html
The rest are all users seeking help after problematic upgrade.
Best Regards,
Gerald
