First, a background about the QWERTY layout: it was designed for typists who typed so fast on manual typewriters that the hammers would stick together. When electronic typewriters, and then computer keyboards, were designed, they had layouts that were familiar: QWERTY. Thing is, QWERTY was designed to slow down overspeeding typists, and electronic circuitry is orders of magnitude faster than mechanical levers and hammers. Enter the Dvorak layout. I'll leave it to the Dvorak users to decide whether they're more accurate, but I believe they should be faster on Dvorak than on QWERTY. -- Daniel O.
