The first link is old. The Drupal community, and Drupal itself has grown and
matured by leaps and bounds since then. Compared to mediawiki, Drupal is
more widely adopted.

In the end though, one can't compare both on the same level because they're
simply don't belong on the same genre. Drupal can do (with some fundamental
differences)  what MediaWiki does but not the other way around, plus much
more.
