arguably mac hardware is not significantly more expensive than 1st
tier pc hardware (e.g. Dell, Lenovo...) of equivalent spec. in fact
you can buy much more expensive pc hardware.

that said, "reference" pc hardware (e.g. using Intel GMA950 graphics
and wireless, having the TPM chip) like most business notebooks these
days, are exactly like the mac reference hardware. i ought to try it
on my toshiba one of these days...
