i'm pretty happy with Ubuntu 8.04/8.10 ...then again i just do casual
browsing.

i recently bought into the broadband wireless fad and got me a gsm modem. i
got a bit worried since the manual didn't mention support/instructions for
Linux. i was pleasantly surprised to discover that Ubuntu knew about Smart,
Globe and Sun B) Needless to say setup was a cinch.

The modem manager that came with the package was Windows based; i promptly
looked for and found wammu, which i'm now using to check my balance.

i didn't have good experiences with Fedora 8/9; it kinda shook my faith in
it(then again, Fedora is supposed to be cutting edge, and not necessarily
stable) Now switched to CentOS
