One guy I've met who Did It For Fun(TM) is the one I mentioned earlier, Ryan Bitanga of KDE. He took up C++ as his first language he was 12. In retrospect, I learned programming at that age. I did a lot of hobby programming in high school/college but this was before the historic events of 1994 (Philippine Internet that is). I uploaded some stuff to PC Digest BBS among other places but I don't think I included the source - it wasn't the known custom yet. This is why I expect more about "kids of today" - they can connect to the community and join. But instead (rant mode on) they play MMOGs, spend time on SNS, etc. _________________________________________________ Philippine Linux Users' Group (PLUG) Mailing List http://lists.linux.org.ph/mailman/listinfo/plug Searchable Archives: http://archives.free.net.ph
