Hey mike! no i never got compiz to work properly and even before that it was never optimal.
I only noticed the difference when I was lent a high end PC and I installed ubuntu on it, then immediately noticed the superior resolution and better overall 'snappy' feel of it, which was lacking in mine, and it was just using an onboard card. Even my 2 laptops render Ubuntu better than my desktop. My problem is if someone recommends an ATI card for example, and I buy one and it doesn't improve things, I hope the PC store I buy it from honors their return policy allowing me to replace it. Which I can 100% avoid just by asking the experts here what they use. Gary On Wed, Sep 7, 2011 at 6:39 PM, Michael Tinsay <[email protected]> wrote: > Do you have compiz enabled?
