Sorry you're encountering difficulties. galen, Why dvi is so different from vga in having the system recognize it probably makes sense to you folks who better understand the hardware. I'll wait for the weekend to shut down the system, hook up the new monitor with only the DVI cable, turn the box back on and see what happens ... if I can see anything, that is. :-) In the meantime I've a ton of client work to do and, as you know from working in a small business, there's all the end-of-month administrivia to be completed. Futzing with recalcitrant monitors will just have to wait.
